What's Colorful & Fun? #ColorMeRad5k Of Course!

I know, I know!  I'm not supposed to be running.  But you cannot tell me that the
doesn't look like a blast!   Even if I walk it.  I am planning on doing this with my kids.  And if the prognosis of the knee is worse than I'm hoping (fingers still crossed!), then either I'll walk it or I'll transfer my registration to my husband.  That is one thing I LOVE about this race.  You can transfer your registration to anyone anytime - even up to packet pickup.  AWESOME!  Oh and kids under 7 are FREE!  



What is a Color Me Rad 5k?  
It's an untimed fun run (or walk) where you start out in a white shirt and you get completely coated by Color Bombs of blue, green, pink, purple, and yellow until your entire body looks tie-dyed.  Each section you run though will add a new color to your look and when you cross the finish line, you'll get a final blast of all colors.

I was a little worried about looking a little tie-dyed when I head back a few days later, so I checked out what the "color" is made of.  It's a non-toxic, non-rash-inducing, colored corn-starch and it comes out with soap and water.  It may take a few tries - especially those with light color hair!

Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression ge...
