It's crazy to think I've been doing the blog thing for 3 years now.  And to think, I started it on a whim.  One day I said "I'm writing a blog" and boom...there was a blog.  I sucked my running girls into it as well.   And I've even gotten another girl to join our little running group!  

2 years ago at the Freeport Jingle Bell 5k!  


Running With The Girls has been very good to me over the past few years.  I've made tons of great running friends through it - locally and across the country.

    I would choose the RT, in the blue and white, I think. I wish I were watching Downton Abbey but we don't get PBS so I have to wait until the next day to watch it on my iPad

The (Wright) Right Socks for ME! + Giveaway

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Thanks to Tom and Kim at WrightSock , I had the chance to try some of their socks out.  Since I wear a size 9 and my size is borderline between a medium and a large, Tom thought it was best for me to try out   both the medium socks and the large socks. I was sent the Running II Double Layer Socks and the Merino TRL Double Layer Socks to try out.  I've never tried out double layer socks before.  Sometimes I have worn two pairs of socks in the winter, but there has been a lot of rubbing which has led to some unpleasant blisters.  Yuck. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is!
