Proud
Check it out. This came in the mail yesterday.
But it wasn't for me. I am incredibly proud of Ward (and Wade) for their accomplishment. In a little over 3 weeks we'll all head down to Boston - the guys will run their race and Jill, myself and our kids will hopefully be able to cheer them on somewhere and find them after the race.
Someday, I want this package to come in the mail for me. I'm not there yet. I have quite a bit of work ahead of me first.
I'm reaching out to any Boston Marathon spectators out there right now. How does one spectate (just enough to hopefully see the husband and brother-in-law) and then get to a spot somewhere beyond the finish line with 4 kids? It's going to be CRAZY. I know! Just looking for some hints here.
Also, drive in or take the T? I've never ever driven in Boston before. Oh this is going to be an adventure for sure!

SO SO SO SO FUN.
ReplyDeletesounds like a blast!!
ReplyDeleteThat is so amazing! What a great package to receive. I would love to go and spectate.. it is apparently a quite amazing day for all. Congratulations to your boys!
ReplyDeleteThis will be my first time spectating Boston. It will probably make me want to BQ even more!
DeleteAwesome!!!
ReplyDeleteI'd forgotten you mentioned Wade & his brother had places, SO amazing! I bet they will ace it and you and the kids will have a blast cheering them on :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's funny because Ward is far more relaxed about this than and I and he's the one running! :) It will be fun, I know it!
DeleteAll the times I spectated (and volunteered) I lived there (well, just outside of Boston). I'm not sure what good advice I could give to you regarding driving around. Are you wanting to be there at the start too? That would be hard. There is usually a Red Sox game that day as well, so there is crazy bad traffic and they close many roads down for the race.
ReplyDeleteYou could get there early (like EARLY 8 OR 9 a.m.) and pay to park in a lot somewhere around Fenway. then take the T to a point near BC (Brookline), then take the T back to the Prudential or Hynes Convention stop and catch the finish.
Message me if you have any more questions and I'll see if I can figure them out.
Thank you, Michelle. I'll probably be messaging you. My thought is to just take the T in outside of Boston anyway to avoid the driving issue (hopefully altogether!).
DeleteSo exciting!
ReplyDeleteyessss the spectating is fun but wild. Good luck navigating the crowds and cheering in your men!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait! Thank you!
DeleteThat is awesome. Boston's about 5 hours from me, and every year I think about driving out. Maybe someday. Good luck getting thing arrange- it'll probably be uber motivating watching all of those people!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you! Even being a spectator will be such a great experience! Good luck to Ward and Wade!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice post! You are such a good wife. I am sure Wade is thinking why doesn't my wife write about me like this...Wade and I started to talk about this last night. I do not want to drive around Boston. I told him that I want to take the T.
ReplyDeleteI think we have to take the T. Ward suggested that we have one of his cousins drive Wade's truck into Boston. I nearly fell over with that comment. :)
DeleteI'll be coming from the Northbridge area....does that help? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! My brother in law is running Boston adn I'm dying to go but having it on a Monday sure isn't any good for scheduling!
ReplyDeleteYAY!! So exciting!!
ReplyDeleteI am NO help with how to get around, though, but I hope you figure it out!!
