Happy Blogiversary to ME & Chickbands Giveaway

One year ago this blog was born.  I was inspired by a local running mom, Emilie at One Mom in Maine (thank you, Stacy, for sending me to her blog!).  I enjoyed reading her blog posts about training, eating healthy and family.  Oh, and she's a teacher runner as well.

I started this blog here because as a way to connect with other runners out there like me and to journal my training efforts in whatever route my running took me.  The camaraderie amongst the runner bloggers out there is just simply outstanding.

Because February is not only my blogiversary month, it is also my birthday month so I do have a line up of awesomeness planned for this month (so keep coming back!!!).

To kick things off, I have an incredible giveaway from Kara at Chickbands.  A few months ago I won my 1st Chickband from Heather.  Immediately, Kara got in touch with me and we worked together through emails to choose the right band for me.  I ordered the purple sparkly.  When it came, it was love at first sight.  First off, I love purple.  Secondly, it was sparkly!

I loved the band so much, I bought Izzy her own bands - a purple one to match me and a ladybug one.  I should mention, I did get a red sparkly one for me as well.  Again, Kara was incredible.  She made sure I ordered the right size for Izzy's head.  I love that they are custom made.

Kara has an incredible selection of bands to choose from - she has the sparkly ones, cute little girl ones, argyle, flowers, you name it.  Plus, she is constantly adding new prints to her store.

While it's a bit too cold to wear my Chickbands running right now - I've been sporting my headbands at school and to yoga.  They look great and don't slip at all.  I can't wait until I no longer need a hat to run - then I can start wearing my Chickbands again!

It stayed in place UNDER my hat for my pre-yoga run and throughout yoga.
Impressive is all I have to say about that.
