PureFit Bars Review
When PureFit bars contacted me to review their bars, I was more than happy to try them out. I love eating and I enjoy trying out new things - so this was an excellent opportunity. Emily was even nice enough to add in some samples for Ward, the BQ'ing hubby of mine.
The flavors we received were:
PureFit bars were created by a runner who understands the nutrional demands of a runner. While training for your next race or challenge, it's important to remember to provide our bodies with balanced and complete nutrition.
I'm not a big dairy lover at all. I do love cheese and yogurt, yes, I do realize they are forms of dairy. BUT, I'm not a big fan of milk. When Izzy was diagnosed with a milk sensitivity, I soon realized that maybe I have one as well and perhaps that is why I do not like milk.
In comes PureFit bars. PureFit bars are made to be easily digested and not upset our stomachs. I am very picky about what I eat before a run or a race because I do not want to risk an upset stomach when I'm out there. An upset belly definitely makes for a terrible run and potentially some uncomfortable situations. Before my long run with the girls two weekends ago, I ate the Chocolate Brownie Bar. Oh my. The taste was full of chocolate and the texture was perfect. I could see myself stocking up on these and taking with me for the Reach The Beach Relay this May. It was a perfect pre-run snack.
Before the Midwinter Classic 10-Miler race this past Sunday, I chose to eat the Peanut Butter Crunch bar. This flavor was amazing. Rich peanut butter and a smooth texture as well. I didn't feel much of a crunch either. My tummy felt great during the entire race as well!
Ward has taken a couple of the bars on his long runs and he has come back only to report that he thoroughly enjoys these bars. He says they are a perfect refuel on the the long runs and are satisfying.
Each PureFit bar has 18 grams of all natural, gluten-free, vegan protein. And best of all, they do not melt in their packaging. I don't know about you, but it more than annoying when you've been eyeing up a tasty snack only to find that it melted in the package. Sometimes I am desperate enough to just each the gooey mess, but I don't have to worry about this with my PureFit bars. Unfortunately, I cannot try this out right now since I am in Maine in the middle of winter. Hardly anything melts in Maine in February. (except for the snow right now during this incredible stretch of 40F weather we have going on right now!)

I'm not normally a bar woman.
ReplyDeleteI. Am. Curious. Now ;-)
I haven't been a bar lover either - but these bars really do taste great!
DeleteI LOVE these bars! Taste great and are gluten-free :)
ReplyDeleteI keep reading about these bars. I'm seriously intrigued, especially that they're vegan. Must check them out.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've seen these bars but they definitely have me interested. Love that they're created by a runner. I'm assuming they have soy, though, which I have to avoid. :(
ReplyDeleteI still need to write my review LOL. I never want to do it on a day another blogger of mine does it though cause then it just seems cheesy LOL. *shakes fist at you* I was going to write it today!! :D
ReplyDeleteVery nice write up and glad you like them too!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the review! I've been taking these bars in and out of an online shopping cart for a few days. Sounds like I ought to just go ahead and give them a try.
ReplyDeleteI hope you enjoy them just as much as I have!
