The end of vacation week...

I've been a big time slacker this week.  I had so many plans - like painting, cleaning up the garden, catching up on paperwork, blogging, run, and hang out with the kids and friends.  Well, I ran and did get some hanging out with the kids and friends in.  I guess that will have to be good enough because break is over.  The good news is that there are 38 more school days left.

I hope everyone had a fantastic easter.  I hosted a brunch here for my little foursome, aunt & uncle, and Ward's parents.  Before brunch, I did manage to get in a quick 3.5 miler.  I needed that run.

I love brunch so it's always a fun cooking experience.  I completely forgot to take pictures but today's menu included:
- ham
- hashbrowns (unfortunately I broke my food processor by shredding the potatoes in it today, oops!)
- frittatas - 3 types: cheese, spinach, and sausage
- pumpkin scones
- blueberry scones
- strawberry/rhubarb pie
& my aunt brought up a fruit salad

After brunch, we went outside for an egg hunt.  Thank goodness for awesome weather today!  Both kids had a great time.


I'm not so sure what's going on with Izzy's smile right now, it's kind of cute but kind of like a growl at the same time.  Love that girl!

Tucker has been a blast all week.  I'm going to miss him!

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
