I'm so excited!!!

And nervous.  But far more excited!  

A few weeks ago, I received a message from a local running friend, asking me to work with her in opening up a running shop.  Whoooaa….what?  So, I already work full time.  I work part-time at the gym, my kids are getting busier with their activities.  Do I even have time?  But working in a running shop, geared mostly toward women?   This is such an awesome opportunity, so I said yes!  

Today we are hosting our Sneak Peek at The Rail Trail Run Shop!  If you live in the Augusta, Maine area - please stop by between 1:30 - 4 this afternoon.

We're starting small.  The shop is located in the back side of her studio at 50 Front Street, Augusta.  It's tucked out of the way.  For now, the area doesn't get a ton of traffic - however, the awesome rail trail, that I love running on, is going to be extended to end exactly outside the shop's doors.  PERFECT!  Now this probably won't happen until next year, but still….awesome!

So, onto my next venture, with a group of fantastic ladies!  We're going to have a blast with this.

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression ge...
