Wounded Warrior's Project Race Report

Last Friday I had one of those excellent runs.  It was a slight drizzle, which was a very welcome break from the gross humid weather we've been having.  I woke up just ready to get outside for a run.  You've had one of those runs, I know it.   The rain brought the temperature down drastically and everything just seemed to click.



It was during that 4-miler that I decided I was going to dedicate that run to Suz & Allan's Wounded Warrior's Project.



Ward should really be ready at the door for me every time I get home from a run.  That's his job, right?

Thank you, Suz & Allan for doing an incredible job raising money for the Wounded Warrior's Project.  I think it's a fantastic organization.  I have many service members in my family and I would hope that there would be support for them if they were in need.

    Nice work on your run,and I love that you dedicated it to their project. I just donated some money to them as well; it is such an important cause!

    Nice job - I love that perfect drizzle mid-summer. Such a refreshing change. And I love that you dedicated that run - sometimes it feels like it's for a bigger reason.

    Glad you had such a good run! Thank you again for all of your support! I am always telling Allan he needs to be home to take my picture after all my runs so I think Ward should do the same.

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Spandits Review & Giveaway

Meet Sarah & Kelly   They are the women behind Spandits.   Spandits is a Maine company specializing in creating high quality, original athletic apparel.  Both of these women are amazing.  They are mothers, running coaches and marathoners.  They know running and what feels good. the label - on my capris, it is located just below the knee I came across their store on Ward's facebook page a few months ago and immediately fell in love.   I have gotten quite bored with my plain black and gray tights and capris.  Yes, they match just about any top, but there's nothing special about them at all.  Now, Spandits is all about special and original.  They stand out in a crowd and definitely get quite a bit of attention. ArmPocket Review + Giveaway

One of the must haves when running is my phone.  I run with it for safety and of course, to stop and take a picture.  You never know when you'll see something great on the side of the road or when I have to take a selfie.  Runner priorities. I had this old arm band for the original iTouch I bought Ward years ago, so I've been using that running armband for my iPhone.  Well, sometimes.  It's horrible.  It's hard to get my phone in and out of it.  It's not water resistant at all.  And there's no room to carry other things in it.  Very frustrating. Which lead to me simply carrying my phone.  With my hands.   And I was okay with that.  It was quite easy to take a picture because I already had the phone in my hand.  But there was one problem.  A pretty major one and I didn't even notice until my brother-in-law saw me running one day and asked me why I didn't use my arms when I run.  Hmmmm......   I thought I was using my arms.  I have many pictures
