Let Summer Begin

No more school for Tucker or myself!  Yippee!

We had to start summer off on the right foot - so the kids and I headed over to our favorite little swimming spot to stake our claim.

This is our little Peacock Beach.  It's on Pleasant Pond in Richmond.  We love it there because it's only 5 minutes from the house, 3 minutes from Izzy's daycare, and usually has a great little beach for the kids and a nice grassy area for the moms to hang out on while the kids are splashing around and having an awesome time.




Unfortunately, with all of the rain we had in the past couple of weeks, our little beach was not there.  


It was a bit lonely there today because normally I'm there with my girls and their families.   I'm hoping they will join me next week when the temps hit 90s!  (that's hot for Maine)



My view for most of the summer!

    Have a great summer. We're already about 3 weeks in! But we go back mid-Aug. Kind of an odd schedule. And we've seen plenty of 90's already. Looks like a great place to swim.

      We'll also be spending our fair share of time at the cottage and at the ocean. Lots of water time for us!

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
