Saturday Favorites

Image
Well hello there!  This Saturday is shaping up to be a gorgeous day!  Instead of Friday Favorites, because I didn't get this post done on time, I'm going to bring you a Saturday Favorites.   It's my blog and I can do what I want!  Premier Protein. Something I've been dying to tell you about.  It's the newest Premier Protein flavor - Bananas & Cream .  It tastes amazing!  Almost like a dessert.   But a dessert that is packed with 30 grams of protein, essential amino acids, 24 vitamins and minerals, 1 gram of sugar and 160 calories! I tried it as a recovery shake and definitely felt satisfied and ready to take on the next day's workout.  Plus I still cannot get over how delicious it tasted!   Even as a meal replacement shake it was the best!  I'm huge into smoothies for meals anyway but I was out of my normal powder.  So I grabbed one of these instead....and my lunch was taken care of!   I even shared with Ward, &quo

April Break for us means our annual trip to Boston for the best Marathon Monday ever!  The husband, Mr. Running With The Girls, has run Boston for the past 5 years.  Which means, that for the past 5 years, it's become our routine to head down to Boston for the expo, head to Ward and Wade's aunt and uncle's house for lots of family time, and then the Boston Marathon! I've spectated the Boston Marathon 4 out of those 5 years.  The one year I didn't spectate, I actually ran it.   expo fun!   Spectating the Boston Marathon is no joke!  It seriously takes quite a bit of planning and organizing to get you through the day!  One day, Ward will be the spectator and will completely appreciate all of the work that goes into spectating!  By all means, I am not comparing the prep-work to spectating to the years of prep-work it takes to qualify for the race and then train for race day... or the hardwork of the fundraisers.   Hats off to all of the Boston Marat

Whenever we leave the state, crossing the Piscataqua Bridge and seeing this sign always makes me smile.   Maine.  The Way Life Should Be. I've been hearing this for almost as long as I can remember.  Way before my parents moved us to Maine in 1990, they brought us up to Maine to vacation.  Every summer we spent a week in Maine.   My parents moved us to Maine in 1990 and it was definitely one of the best decisions ever.  I've been living her for over 26 years now, and I am quite proud to call the State of Maine my home.  And I'm even happier that Ward and I are raising our children here.   When I think about what I love most about Maine, I think about the natural beauty of our state.  You do not have to drive far to be able to see and experience the views Maine has to offer.   We have water.  Lots of fresh, clean, water.    We have beaches along the Atlantic Ocean and many ponds, lakes and rivers.  Fall 2015, Wells Beach

Let's talk Motivation Monday, shall we?  After a weekend of running and having fun with the family, Monday always comes and I see it as a new week and new opportunity to get out there and crush those goals.   This week is adding in a new opportunity for me as I take on coaching the middle school track team.  I'm super excited by this, but at the same time, I'm thinking "when am I going to run?"   It will take some creative scheduling... and perhaps I'll be doing what I can to get in a workout while coaching.  We'll see how THAT goes!  With this new opportunity, and nicer weather, it kind of has me thinking that I would really enjoy having myself the Convertible HDL.  I could see it being an amazing asset to my running and fitness gear AND coaching gear.   You might be thinking, what in the world are you talking about?  I've never even heard of the Convertible HDL !  That's right.  It's not on the market yet.  TODAY is

Say GOODBYE to Chafing and Blisters with 2Toms SportShield

The truth is, I have ugly feet.  Runner's are not known for having gorgeous, feet anyway.  But those bunions I have just look ewww to me!  And I have found over the years, that once in a while, no matter which pair of socks or which shoes I decide to run in, for some unknown reason, I'll get some chafage by my bunion. Let's talk about unpleasant!  Because once there's rubbing, wearing any shoes is just not fun.  I can't exactly go to work barefoot, so I need to take some preventative steps.   Sometimes the area will blister, which just makes for an angry runner. When I came across the opportunity to review 2Toms Sport Shield to prevent Chafing AND Blisters, I was skeptical.  2 needs in 1 product.  But I needed to see if 2Toms could deliver on the promise to have happy feet again.   I like how 2Toms Sport Shield comes in roll-on form and in travel "wipes" form.  Both are super easy to stash in a gym bag or purse and take with
