Smoothies Smoothies Everywhere!

Image
I seriously love smoothies!  They are what gets me through each and every single day.  To me, a smoothie is the best way to cram all of the nutrients into one, convenient serving that will fuel me for breakfast or lunch!  I've been doing two smoothies a day since the fall. It's almost like Manitoba Harvest had me in mind when they made their newest Hemp Protein Smoothie mixes.  A creamy blend of HempPro 70 protein powder with organic harvest greens (organic spinach, kale and broccoli).   Each 30 gram serving contains 15 grams of plant-based protein and is slightly sweetened with organic coconut sugar.   And the flavors?   Mixed Berry, Vanilla Chai, and Chocolate.  A great variety and ALL delicious.   Lunch?  If it weren't for a shaker bottle, and protein powders, and almond or cashew milk... this girl would be hungry!  My lunch literally takes me seconds to make.  Scoop in my Hemp Protein Smooth...

Tried It Tuesday

Time is flying by!  I cannot believe it's Tuesday already.  Was Monday just a flash?  Craziness!!! I'm trying to slow down time and take in all of the family time I can - hugging these kids as much as possible.  They are what makes my life go round.  Well, Ward too.  Of course!   I'm finding that eating healthy is definitely not a struggle for me.   Don't get me wrong.  I do love my sweets too!  I love eating healthy foods...especially trying out new snacks from brands that I already love.   When Manitoba Hearts reached out to me to try out their new bars, I had to jump in on the fun!   Each Hemp Heart bar has 10 grams of plant-based protein and 10 grams of omegas.    It's easy to just grab one of these bars on your way out the door for a quick snack for anytime of day.  And the flavors!!!!!  Chocolate.  Vanilla.  Apple Cinnamon.  All delicious flavors.   ...

Tasty Tuesday! (+Giveaway)

In February, I kicked off a Smoothie A Day routine.   My smoothies usually consist of a liquid (like almond, coconut or cashew milk), a green (like kale or spinach), a fruit (strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, bananas, etc), and a source of protein (protein powder or greek yogurt).  I had no idea that Hemp Hearts were a great source of protein until I had the opportunity to review a sample of Manitoba Harvest's Hemp Hearts .   Did you know that they have 10g of protein/30 g serving?  I was shocked!  After I read about their protein content, I had to experiment with them in my morning smoothie.....  and guess what?  SUCCESS!  So much success, I wanted to eat more Hemp Hearts and through together a salad for lunch and tossed the remainder of the sample onto my kale and tahini salad.  Again, SUCCESS!   I've been so sad about not having Hemp Hearts, and haven't been able to find it sold locally. ...
