Spandits Review & Giveaway

Meet Sarah & Kelly

They are the women behind Spandits.

Spandits is a Maine company specializing in creating high quality, original athletic apparel.  Both of these women are amazing.  They are mothers, running coaches and marathoners.  They know running and what feels good.

the label - on my capris, it is located just below the knee

I came across their store on Ward's facebook page a few months ago and immediately fell in love.   I have gotten quite bored with my plain black and gray tights and capris.  Yes, they match just about any top, but there's nothing special about them at all.  Now, Spandits is all about special and original.  They stand out in a crowd and definitely get quite a bit of attention.

Kelly was actually Ward & Wade's high school track coach.  As long as I've known the guys, I've been hearing stories about their amazing track coach.  Last Sunday, I finally got the chance to meet her and her partner, Sarah, at the Run to Prevent Child Abuse 5k.  They had a table set up at the race and it was getting quite a bit of attention.   Wouldn't you want be drawn to a table with all of these fun colors?

I was given a pair of Confused Cheetah capris to review by Kelly and Sarah.  I cannot think of a better way to review running clothes than to run a race in them.  Now, I wouldn't suggest trying something new out for a marathon but I think it's safe to try something out for a 5k.

Proudly showing off my new Confused Cheetah look

PROS
- Super silky fabric, I really couldn't get enough of it.  I kept rubbing my hands on the fabric.  Weird I know, but it felt awesome
- Waist of pants came to my navel area, just high enough to cover the awkward mommy belly but not too awkwardly high
- Little pouch on the inside - perfect for key, gum, gu, whatever you need, just as long as it's small
- Fun attention getting prints

the pouch on the inside of my pants

CONS
- not a single thing!

I actually went to Hannaford and Reny's after the race (yes, all sweaty and gross) and overheard so many people commenting about my pants and actually received 5 compliments about my new capris.

I have worn these capris 3 times this past week.  I may be a little obsessed with them.   Each time I've worn them, I've noticed how supportive yet silky they feel.

Check it out, they match my fun purple Asics too!
Spandits also makes:
- men's shorts, tights, 1/2 tights,
- youth over-the-knee capris, 3/4 tights, shorts, tights
- women's 1/2 tights, 3/4 tights, full length tights, over-the-knee capris, shorts, boy shorts, running skirt
- calf sleeves & arm sleeves
- headbands
- skull caps

Please note, some items are very new and photographs are not available just yet.  However, I did see a woman sporting one of the skirts and it was awesome! I wish I had taken a picture of her now.

Izzy and Tucker both wanted headbands - so of course I bought them each one.  Tucker has been wearing it daily for the last week.  I can't say if he's gone to school like this or not, since I don't see him in the morning, but I can say that he definitely has it on in the afternoons when I get home.  I think he looks like he's ready for some kung fu action or something.  Don't you?

Oh and Izzy has been too cute with hers.  She's been wearing it around the house - saying she's a runner and it helps her run fast.  That girl is adorable!  I've got to say.  I tried on Izzy's and I love it.  I actually tried it out on a run this week.  It didn't slip at all and it wasn't too tight.

Since I am beyond pleased with my capris, I want to share this happiness with one lucky reader.  I will buy one very lucky reader one item from the Spandits store.  Yes, that is how incredible I think these pants are.

To enter, just follow the directions below using Rafflecopter.   It is really that easy.

  19. I'd either want the over the knee capris (because I love that length in the fall and early spring) or the arm sleeves. I discovered the wonders of arm sleeves at my 2nd half marathon. Perfect for me b/c I tend to get really hot, but hate being cold at the start of a run/race.
