Miles For Miracles Raffle/Giveaway!

It's been 3 weeks since I ran Clarence DeMar..... and I run THEY New York City Marathon in 3 weeks.   I *might* be freaking out a little bit!   Just a tiny bit.  I mean, I'm going from 300 people to 50,000.  Yeah... all of those zeros.  CRAZY!   Maine girl right here, going to big city NYC.   



I know for one thing, it's going to be experience!    I'm nearly done with my fundraising...  my Paint Night fundraiser is tomorrow night, then I'll add the $ from both Paint Nights to my account and done!  



But I feel like I want to do one more little fundraiser.   Just that added push!  And since the deadline for the fundraiser is Monday!  EEEK!    I am going to squeeze in a FLASH raffle/giveaway on my blog!

As you may or may not know, I'm running NYCM for #MilesforMiracles to raise funds for Boston Children's Hospital.   My son, Tucker, has had several surgeries at Boston Children's Hospital - and I'm quite thankful for the outstanding care our entire family received during our many visits.  It's an amazing facility and incredible people.   If any of your children or anyone you know has gone to Boston Children's Hospital, then you know how amazing it is!!!     You can read my story about Tucker here.

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
