As you know, I have two pups in my life.  My runner pup, Pepper, and my playful, curious, Mallie.   Pepper is 8 years old, stubborn, but doesn't really go off too far.  


Mallie, on the other hand, will explore the entire area.  We live on a back road, but people drive rather fast on my road and I don't want Mallie exploring that much!  

So when I was sent the Whistle GPS Pet Tracker to try out, I had to decide which pup to would try it out..... and I chose Mallie.     This device is actually a GPS that attaches to your dog's existing collar that tracks your pup's location and activity levels, all from your phone.  


From the app on your phone, you can decide how big you want your "circle" to be, which is the allowable area where you want your pup to roam.  When your pup leaves this safe zone, you'll receive a notification on your phone to let you know.  Which is rather comforting.  



The Whistle GPS Pet Tracker also measures your pup's activity and rest levels and will send you a weekly email update.   Because Mallie isn't the pup that will run with me, I was convinced she wasn't as active as Pepper!  But the app definitely let me know that she is one active pup!

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
