First Day of 3rd Grade

Where has the time gone?  Seriously.  When did I become a mom to a 3rd grader? 


One of the things I hate about teaching in another district, is that I am never going to be around to see Tucker off to school on his first day of school and I have to rely on the husband to take horrible pictures.  I guess I shouldn't complain, at least we got one, right? 


But, hey, at least Tucker got a ride to school in the cute little Austin Healy (see the plate?)!

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Thanks to Tom and Kim at WrightSock , I had the chance to try some of their socks out.  Since I wear a size 9 and my size is borderline between a medium and a large, Tom thought it was best for me to try out   both the medium socks and the large socks. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! I’ve put a lot of thought into what I need to feel safe to run at night.  First and foremost, I needed some new gear to help me out, which lead me to RoadID for some help in this area. Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
