Where Am I Today?

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you've all had a great weekend so far and if you are lucky enough to have tomorrow off, I sure hope you enjoy your bonus day off. I know I will. I'll be taking the entire family down to Boston so they can cheer me on in my first Tufts 10K. If you missed it, I was featured on the Reebok Women facebook page on Thursday.  I am beyond excited for tomorrow's race and the opportunity to be part of Team Reebok.  



I cannot wait to come home and share pictures and stories about our trip to Boston and the race.  In the meantime, I'll leave you with my mojo story featured on my fellow Mainer, Louise's blog Weez Runs:  Runners Ramblings.  I hope to meet her in person someday as she is one inspirational lady.    Thank you, Louise for featuring me today.

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
