Today I have plenty to be thankful for.

and who both love the water


my running hubby



My Chickens
These ladies are going to give us plenty of eggs (any day now!!!)




The Garden
Jill & I have grown a very successful garden and will be providing
our families with plenty of delicious vegetables.

    Jen, I love the pictures of your kids playing in the river. It reminds me of growing up in the hills behind Santa Barbara, my sisters and I learned to swim in calm river like this one. Such great memories you are giving your kiddos. I am thankful for those memories and for my family.

    Nice! I'm thankful that I can go swimming any day I want :) ...now that I have a rec center pass. I'm thankful that Logan goes to bed at 8pm and I'm thankful for fresh produce taking off INSIDE my house ;)

    Next year I hope to have a veggie garden outside like yours ....and a running husband

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! I’ve put a lot of thought into what I need to feel safe to run at night.  First and foremost, I needed some new gear to help me out, which lead me to RoadID for some help in this area. Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
