The Streak is OVER!

Today I will NOT run.  Although, I did see a runner this morning and runner's envy completely took over and I had this urge to get out there and run.  However, I will hold strong and I will not run.  I think I may spend some time on my bike and/or do some yoga.  I haven't decided yet.  



For those of you who chose to join me in the streaking, now is the time to email me your running logs.  You can send them here between today and Saturday night (2/4) at midnight. I've actually already received an email. Also, remember, if you want a bonus entry - send me a pic of your coldest run!  

I will keep a spreadsheet of entries as they come in and choose a winner using random.org and post the winner here on the blog on 2/5 (after my race!).

You would think that when I'm streaking I would totally kick the husbands butt in mileage.  But nope, his Boston training plan has him at something like 155 miles in January!

      I was looking over the plan and it basically sky rockets for February and March! :) He'll PR no worries there.

      Gee, thank you, Jamie! When you run everyday, those miles get up there fast!!! I think it's my highest month ever.

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
