It absolutely breaks my heart that another member of our running community has been lost to a horrific tragedy.  I cannot even imagine what Meg's family is going through right now and I can only pray my family never needs to face their reality.   



Sadly, Meg wasn't the only runner to have lost her life this week.   The most recent tragedies have angered and scared me.  

The girls and I were already planning on running today but when we found out that today would be the worldwide, virtual run for Meg - it seemed fitting that I got to run today with my girls.  Well, minus one.  Poor Carrie had to work.  (we missed you,  girl!)





We set out for a 10 mile loop.  But somehow I had forgotten that the loop is actually 13.86!  Ooops!   What's another 5k (and a smidge more)?  Right?  

My heart is very heavy right now.  This is a scary world we live in.  You never know what is going to happen next.  But all I know is that I need to hug my kids, husband, and the rest of my family just a bit tighter and cherish the moments that are right here and now.

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
