This Is What Tough Looks Like

When Tough Chik sent out the email last fall, I knew I had to join Team Tough Chik.   I am now part of a fabulous family of Tough Chiks all around the world.




We had an incredible stretch of weather last week, so I had to get the singlet on and strike a pose. 
Here I am.  Tough Chik, ready to take on whatever comes my way.   

What makes me a Tough Chik?  
- Family always comes first (priorities people!)
- Weather doesn't take me away from my running
- I am not going to let the end-of-year school stresses get to me
- Hills do not scare me
- I am looking forward to warmer weather so I can take Izzy with me in the jogger while I race Tucker on his bike
- I thrive on challenging myself in running longer, faster, trying new workouts

      Of course it was 80 degrees that day - now we're back to 30s and 40s. I hope it warms up so I can wear it next weekend for my 1/2!!!

Socks are very important to a runner.   If they rub you the wrong way, it will make for a very uncomfortable run.  Bunching up, toes too cold, too hot, rubbing - all things that can go wrong with a sock.  I'm sure there are some other scenarios I've left out. Running at night scares used to terrify me.  But, it all comes down to if I want to run I had to get over this fear.  Running in the darkness is my only option if I plan on running Monday through Friday since it’s dark before school and getting dark when I leave school and it’s going to be this way until mid February/March.  I supposed option B would be to rejoin the gym, but I really don’t want to spend the $$ and I don’t really enjoy the treadmill anymore.  So, outside it is! Tommie Rocks + Giveaway!

 A little over a month ago, Jordan from  Tommie Copper  sent me some Tommie Copper gear to sample.  I nearly peed my pants with excitement when the Tommie package came in the mail.  It was a gorgeous fall afternoon AND I had new gear to try out, so I pushed dinner back and made the executive decision to go for a run immediately.  Have you heard about Tommie Copper ?  This company is known for it’s compression gear that is infused with Copper.  So, why does Tommie use copper in it’s compression gear?  From what I gather, copper has been used medicinally for 1000’s of years.  Apparently copper stimulates the immune system to fight infections, repairs injured tissues and promotes healing.  Do you think if I outfitted myself in TC gear and wore it to school everyday, I would fight off those gross elementary kid germs?  I’m tempted to try that out.  Seriously.   Why do people even wear compression gear?  Do they just like wearing tight clothing?
